The Southern Iowa Council of Governments (SICOG) has been actively involved in implementing and operating housing programs since 1983. Programs cover a broad array of issues that are important to the regional vitality. Current housing programs assist with the rehabilitation of the region’s housing stock, creating more affordable housing, sponsoring new development, assisting those of moderate and below income and helping to promote safe, sanitary and decent living conditions. SICOG also offers technical assistance, grant writing and grant administration to member communities for local community housing projects. Our staff has experience working with programs from many different funding agencies, including the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA), Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) and many other public and private funding sources.
